Storyfest 2016 Update:
As we all know, change is inevitable, and after 28 years, the Board of Directors of Jackson Storyfest has decided that Storyfest can no longer operate as an independent organization. Therefore, the Board has voted to dissolve Jackson Storyfest and turn over all of its assets, including the name, to the Jackson District Library (JDL). The GOOD news is, Storyfest will continue to provide quality storytelling programs and will be held for the 29th year from May 4 - 6, 2016. Following a very successful 2015 event, JDL is committed to sending the storytellers, free of charge, into schools once again, rather than bringing the students to the traditional sites in downtown Jackson.
If your school wishes to participate and host a storyteller, we request that principals complete the request form (emailed to all principals and superintendents on 10-23-2015), and return to email@example.com by Friday 11-20-2015.
Educators with question about scheduling their class to attend Storyfest may contact: Deb Spencer (517-768-5175) or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The JCISD is a partner in this spring program that brings some of the area's best storytellers in front of thousands of students and seniors - sparking their interest in reading! There are plenty of opportunities for families to also join in the fun.
