Stay tuned for 2016 updates. We will post new information soon!
In an effort to improve literacy in our county, the Jackson County ISD has partnered with Jackson Storyfest to provide a learning and fun experience for students pre-K through 12th grade. Storyfest is an annual event held in various downtown Jackson locations, with storytellers from across the country sharing stories of personal experiences, cultural backgrounds, and adventure. The storytelling helps to promote listening, retelling, and comprehension; all components of a balanced literacy program and documented in the Grade Level Content Expectations.
Educators with question about scheduling their class to attend Storyfest may contact: Deb Spencer (517-768-5175) or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The JCISD is a partner in this spring program that brings some of the area's best storytellers in front of thousands of students and seniors - sparking their interest in reading! There are plenty of opportunities for families to also join in the fun.
