Golden Knight Cadets Tops in Michigan - Again!
The Jackson Area Career Center Army JROTC Rifle Team topped all Michigan shooters again this year in the U.S. Army Junior Air Rifle to repeat as State Champions. The competition, held in January, earned the team State bragging rights for the 6th year in a row.
Many Career Center cadets took part in the event an Olympic-style competition using air rifles and pellets shot at targets from 10 meters in three positions - prone, kneeling and standing.
Very strict operating procedures are adhered to in this sport. If a cadet violates any safety standard or they forget the routine, they are immediately disqualified, retrainied and retested. Cadets on the team are serious about improving their marksmanship skills.
We continue to be extremely proud of our cadets. The team continues to get better and better, and is in training for an opportunity to compete in a National Invitational.
