    Sunday, June 13, 2021

JCISD programs have zero school associated COVID-19 cases.

A "School Associated Case” means a case where the Jackson County Health Department notified the JCISD of a probable or confirmed COVID-19 case amongst students, teachers, staff members, coaches, volunteers, or any other person who was present in a JCISD school program or on JCISD school property or at a school function under circumstances that may have resulted in the transmission or contraction of COVID-19 during their infectious period.

Since the beginning of the 2020-21 school year, JCISD has had the following cumulative school associated COVID-19 cases (this includes any active cases noted above):

    • Jackson Area Career Center (JACC)
      • High School - 37
      • Adult Education - 2
    • Special Education Programs
      • Torrant Center - 8
      • Kit Young Center - 2
      • East Campus - 3
      • Youth Home - 1
      • JCISD classroom at Columbia - 1
      • JCISD classroom at Frost/Cascades - 1
    • Kratz Education Center (KEC) - 1
    • Transportation - 1

Once the JCISD is notified of a probable or confirmed COVID-19 case, the impacted spaces will undergo enhanced sanitation protocols as guided by the Jackson County Health Department and CDC Guidelines in accordance with our Preparedness and Response Plan. Any persons potentially affected directly by any event/ COVID instance/case who may require testing or quarantine, as determined through contact tracing conducted by the Health Department, will be contacted directly by either the JCHD or a JCISD administrator. If you have not been contacted by the JCHD or a JCISD administrator, you should assume you do not need to take further action and you do not need to contact the school to ask if you have been directly affected.
