Michigan's New High School Graduation Requirements
As of April 2015, new high school graduation requirements and options under Michigan’s Merit Curriculum (MMC) went into effect. The new requirements – among additional changes – will allow students taking Career Technical Education courses, such as health science, welding and agriscience, to count those courses toward graduation credits. The JCISD has made available a Guide for Parents to help students and their families to understand these updated requirements. Printed versions of this guide are available at most Jackson County high schools, and is available electronically on this website.
The JCISD's Guide for Parents outlines the current MMC requirements and provides basic information. Be advised that graduation requirements are a complex issue that continues to evolve. The most up to date information will be made available on our website as it is released by the Michigan Department of Education.
