• Academic Consultants
    The Career Center employs a team of highly-qualified consultants to provide learning experiences that integrate academic content into career and technical classes.  The team makes sure students are assessed and supported in technical reading, writing, math, science, and technology.  They also assist instructors with identifying and aligning academic content expectations, literacy initiatives, staff development, and school improvement.  This group of professionals provides leadership in developing local and state level CTE curriculum.
     
    English Language Arts Consultants
    There are three English Language Arts Consultants. Each of these consultants is assigned to approximately twelve Career Center classes. Each consultant visits each class on a weekly basis.  They assist instructors with ELA content embedded in their curriculum. They also assist students (in specific programs) with ELA work, such as a Professional Career Portfolio, which includes documents like a resume, cover letter, pictures of their work, descriptions of the career tasks they can do, etc. Consultants also assist with class assignments like research papers, book reports, article reviews, essays, etc. Consultants are also available to assist students with individual needs.
     
    Embedded English Language Arts Credit
    A half credit of embedded ELA 12 is available in a majority of the Career Center classes.This credit is part of the program curriculum and can be earned as they complete the course.  No additional work is required.  Please note that the career Center Center recommends the credit and the local school districts determine if the credit will be granted. 

    Online English Language Arts:  Online ELA12
    English 12 credit is available to students at the Jackson Area Career Center.  Students can take this course to obtain an entire credit of ELA 12, if it is not offered in their CTE program or they can take half of this class, if they are seeking a half credit of ELA, in conjunction with the embedded credit offered in their class.  Students can also take half of the class, if they they just need a half credit of English 12. Please note that the career Center Center recommends the credit and the local school districts determine if the credit will be granted.
