Bus Driver Training Info

Enrollment into Beginning Bus Driver Training and testing are required upon employment as a school bus driver. Each school district may also have additional criteria for hiring.

2024-2025 Bus Driver Training Schedule   

Beginning Bus Driver Training Form  

The Beginning Class is a mandatory 18-20 hour, 5 day class (during the school year), 9:30 am to 1:30pm, and is offered for beginning school bus drivers who have met all prerequisites for driving a school bus, or who have a certificate of course completion that has expired.

Continuing Bus Driver Training Form

All current drivers in the State of Michigan will have their Certification renewal to be completed by 9/30/2025. Training will not begin until January 2025. Those drivers completing their Beginning Bus Driver Training after July 1, 2025 will not need to renew until 9/30/2027.
