January is School Board Recognition Month

Members of the Jackson County Intermediate School District School Board were given a special mention during this month's Board of Education meeting.

January has been designated "School Board Recognition Month" by the National School Board Association and the Michigan Association of School Boards. The national effort is to build awareness and understanding about the crucial role school boards play in our communities.

JCISD School Board members Doug Schedeler, Lillian Fields, Robert Inman & Erin Slater were given a planter of succulents that was put together by Agriscence students from the Jackson Area Career Center. They were also given a gift certificate to purchase new JCISD apparel. Board President David Salisbury was not present for the January 16 meeting, but a planter and gift certificate were set aside for him to pick up at a later time.

A big "THANK YOU" to our board members and all those who serve to help make a difference in the education of our students across Jackson County and the nation!
