Jackson County Intermediate School District Board of Education Biennial Election

JACKSON COUNTY INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION BIENNIAL ELECTION – JUNE 3, 2019

Three positions on the Board of Education of the Jackson County Intermediate School District will be filled at the Biennial Election to be held on Monday, June 3rd, at 6 p.m.

The terms of Douglas Schedeler, Robert Inman, and Erin Slater will expire on June 30th of this year; Mr. Schedeler was appointed in 2003 and re-elected in 2005, 2011, and to a two year term again in 2017. Mr. Inman was seated in 2013, and Mrs. Slater was appointed mid-term to fill a vacancy in 2018. The vacancies will be filled for two terms of six (6) years each, and one term of four (4) years. expiring June 30, 2025. The successful candidates will take office July 1, 2019.

Candidates must be qualified and registered school electors, citizens of the United States, and residents of the Jackson County Intermediate School District. School law limits individual school district representation to no more than two serving on the ISD board at one time and a maximum of three ISD board members may serve on a constituent board simultaneously.

Nominating petitions bearing the signatures of not less than forty (40) and no more than one hundred (100) qualified and registered electors of the Jackson County Intermediate School District must be filed with the County Clerk no later than thirty (30) days preceding the election, or Monday, May 6, 2019, by 4:00 p.m. In lieu of filing nominating petitions, candidates have the option of paying a non-refundable filing fee of $100 to the Clerk. In addition, Public Acts 322 and 394 of 1987 require candidates to file, at the same time as the nominating petitions or fee, two Affidavits of Identity, which must be a written document, signed and sworn before a person having authority to administer an oath, such as a Notary Public.

Each of the twelve boards of education in the Jackson County Intermediate School District has the authority to appoint one delegate to the biennial election on June 3, 2019.
