Former hospital president and CEO appointed to Jackson County Intermediate School District Board of Education

Jackson, Mich. -- Georgia Fojtasek, former president and chief executive officer of Henry Ford Allegiance Health (HFAH), has been appointed to the Jackson County Intermediate School District Board of Education. The partial-year term appointment expires on June 30, 2021.
Georgia Fojtasek, RN, EdD, retired as President Emeritus from HFAH in 2019 after thirty years with the hospital. She has an extensive background in serving on boards and committees, with organizations that include the Michigan Hospital Association, Enterprise Group for Economic and Regional Development, and Jackson College, among many others. Mrs. Fojtasek currently sits on the Jackson Community Foundation’s Board Development Committee, and the board of Caymich, a 13 hospital insurance captive.
“My long-held belief is that health and education will define the future of our communities, and both fields have been the foundation of my own education and professional career,” said Mrs. Fojtasek in her letter to JCISD board members. She cited her visionary leadership, commitment to excellence, governance experience, passion for community, and dedication to the JCISD mission, as contributions to her service on the board of education.
Mrs. Fojtasek was one of nine people interviewed to fill the seat left vacant after the resignation of Board Trustee Bob Inman. The remaining 4 years of Mr. Inman’s term, which expires on June 30, 2025, will be elected at the next Biennial Election on June 7, 2021.
