District to hold community forum on Central Campus project

Jackson, Mich. — Jackson County Intermediate School District Superintendent Kevin Oxley will present information and gather community input on the new JCISD Central Campus site plan.
The original site plan called for the removal of nine trees, including eight very large, mature oak trees. Concerned neighbors reached out after learning about the plans to remove those trees, and asked the JCISD board of education at its December 21, 2021 meeting to consider alternatives that saved trees.
Superintendent Oxley presented an alternative concept plan at the February 15, 2022 JCISD board of education meeting. A slideshow of that presentation, which includes drawings of the original and alternative site plans, can be found HERE.
A community forum to further discuss the new JCISD Central Campus will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 6pm at the Jackson Area Career Center, 6800 Browns Lake Road.
