December 20, 2022 Update
We have exciting news to kick off the new year! Renovations at the new JCISD Central Campus, previously known as Frost Elementary School, are moving along at a great pace, allowing us to open portions of our building to students in just a few weeks!
Students from our Early Childhood and Emotionally Impaired (EI) programs will move into the building after the holiday break. Transition students (18-26) and students from our Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) program won't move in until the start of the 2023-24 school year.
There will be an opportunity for neighbors and community members to see the building during a soft community open house being planned for a later time this winter. We will share that event information on jcisd.org and the Jackson County ISD Facebook page once it's been finalized.
In the meantime, we've put together another Walking Tour video showing off the progress as of December 16, 2022. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of the project leaders, contractors and JCISD staff who have put their heart and soul into this building every day for the past year. We look forward to all the great things Central Campus will help us do for the students and families we serve!

JCISD Central Campus is a new special education facility that will centralize programming for 0-26-year-old students. This unique “student neighborhood” school (formerly Frost Elementary) will allow for geographical consolidation of many center-based classrooms spread across the county, as well as free up needed space for student programming and staff collaboration at the Lyle A. Torrant and Kit Young Centers on our North Campus.
